Golf Tournament:
Penny Verner has arranged a super golf tournament for Thursday afternoon, starting at 1 pm, at her club, the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. It is nestled 8 miles north of Pasadena in the San Gabriel mountains, overlooking some of the most amazing views of Pasadena and downtown L.A. skyline. Established in 1960 by architect Lawrence Hughes, La Cañada's fairways, fast undulating greens and canyon hazards that come into play makes shot selection key for scoring well. Known for challenging layout and amazing views, La Cañada is the perfect place to play a round. A fee of $50.00 per golfer includes, golf, cart, after golf snack and prizes. Any questions about the tournament? Penny is the one to ask: 818-790-3251, Penelov@aol.com. Enclose fee with your registration.

Transportation:
- You will NOT need a car at this convention. Public (Arts bus and Metro) transportation, hotel shuttle and your feet will get you everywhere.
- When you board the Super Shuttle at LAX or BUR, tell them where you are going and you will get the “rate”. Right now the rate is $24.00 from LAX and $16.00 from BUR. This may change with gas prices being what they are. If four of you go together, you can get a limo - Top VIP for $90 to or from hotel. Call 866-377-7550 to reserve.
Fine dining and other choices:
You have landed in food heaven. Of course the hotel has a restaurant, and there are hundreds other choices within walking distance. We will have a Starbucks with pastries set up outside the meeting room, for the late sleepers on Friday and Saturday mornings. There are some economical choices for quick and fresh breakfasts/lunch within two blocks. The hotel restaurant will set up some quick lunch options for delegates and others attending meetings. Dining recommendations from the Pasadena ladies will be in your registration packets.
Your time in Pasadena:
Come early and stay late, there is so much to do in and around Pasadena and Los Angeles. Check out the great optional tours. Also Check these sites: http://www.ci.pasadena.ca.us/visitors.asp for Pasadena information. http://www.discoverlosangeles.com/visitors.php for Los Angeles information.
Weather and clothing:
September is traditionally pretty warm in So. Cal. This year the weather was perfect, but count on warm.
All events at convention are “smart casual/dressy sport” except the Final Banquet. Pack your “posh frock” for this one. Bring a wrap, evenings can be cool and of course air-conditioning can chill the bones. Bring some comfy shoes for walking around town. No denim for Hooray for Hollywood or Golf Tournament. Country Club rules.
Most importantly:
Come on along for fun, laughter, music and some Clipped Wings business too. It is the perfect place to reunite with friends and flying partners, who can't wait to see YOU.
